Key Elements of a Serious Liveaboard

No yacht can be considered a serious liveaboard without a proper master suite. For a life aboard, a full walk around bed is a must. Because storage is so important, we have dedicated the entire port forward hull as a storage and dressing area. Hanging closets, shelving, shoe racks and a vanity make life aboard a pleasure and never a compromise. The large shower and toilet are in separate areas. We can also customize your master suite to include a bar fridge and coffee station making the suite a true sanctuary.

Liveaboard Version: Owner's Suite

Dingy Davits

The ability to easily launch and raise your dinghy is critical to the liveaboard sailor.

The electric pendular system on the 5 Series is designed to be operated by one person. The other important benefit is the security of resting the dinghy directly on the vessels aft deck. No dinghy is left hanging precariously above the water during a passage.

Short-handed sailing is the norm for the liveaboard cruiser.  This is why the 5 Series was designed with an intelligent line management system that allows you to trim and adjust your sails without ever leaving the helm.  Single line reefing, main halyard, main sheet and genoa sheets are led to 2 electric winches right at the helm. The genoa is also easily controlled by the standard electric furling system.

Helm Station

*NEW* Electronics have been UPGRADED (not shown) to a full suite of B&G Electronics. See Standard Equipment List.

All weather protection is fundamental to extended cruising.  The 5 Series helm features a hard dodger and full enclosure.  Again, the fact that the boat can be sailed without leaving the helm is also a great benefit while sailing in cold weather.  The large cockpit is protected by a hardtop that extends right back to the aft platform.  Once the full enclosure is lowered, a large comfortable weatherproof living area is created that connects beautifully to the salon.

Counter space, storage and refrigeration.  These key strengths are what make the 5 Series galley so functional for a liveaboard adventure.   Surrounded by counter space, cooking is made easier.  A two-drawer refrigerator is supported by a larger second fridge/freezer unit for extended time aboard.  Life aboard is also more convenient thanks to a large floor to ceiling pantry.  A dishwasher is also standard.

The balance between reason and emotion play an important role in the full enjoyment of your time aboard.  It is a mistake to only see your yacht in scientific and logical terms.  The Privilege 5 Series balances best in practice construction methodology with inspiring design.  The beautiful lines of this yacht are very easy to live with, and the interior architecture by Darnet Design will make a significant contribution to your happiness aboard.
