Work in progress on the New Privilege 580 at the @privilegecatamarans boatyard. Here you can see the almost completed helm station with excellent visibility and access to all lines. Also pictured is the forward cockpit seating position with access from both the salon and the owner’s suite. The steps leading from the transom provide additional lighting in the aft cabins. We’re really excited to get on board at the end of the month so we can share more photos and details with you.

The complete article written by Philippe Echelle is well done and worth a read, but there are a few key features that he identifies aboard the Privilege 510 that we’d like to highlight. These include the strong blue water rig, better engine installation (shaft drive not saildrive), smarter offshore tender management, and the excellent sailing characteristics for the liveaboard.

Boatyard Minute Turning the Deck on the New Privilege 640 Catamaran. A (very) quick look inside the Privilege Marine boatyard. A metal frame provides support while the deck is layed up and is then used to turn over the newly constructed deck. From here, work begins by installing teak decking, cutting out hatches and windows, and so much more.
